Page By Processing      Back to Previous

The Page By options for a report allow you to create a set of pages based on the values of the attributes included in the page by setup. You can define the page by attributes when the report is created or once you have generated the output. If you are adding an existing report attribute to the Page By panel, the current output dataset is used. If you adding a new attribute to the Page By panel, the report is regenerated to add the specified attribute(s) to the output dataset and page by the values of the attribute.

The following is a visual diagram that illustrates pages of data within your output dataset. The example assumes you have defined for the Page By options on a report.

In this example, the Data Period and Line Type are used for the Page By options. In the output, the Data Periods are June, July and August 2011; the Line Type values are Open End and Close End.

The report used is a custom Delinquency Detail.

The output dataset for Delinquency Detail will be presented in pages based on the combination of values for Data Period and Line Type.

The combinations are as follows:

Data Period of June 2011 and Line Type Open End

Data Period of June 2011 and Line Type Close End

Data Period of July 2011 and Line Type Open End

Data Period of July 2011 and Line Type Close End

Data Period of August 2011 and Line Type Open End

Data Period of August 2011 and Line Type Close End

The following illustration demonstrates the example above for creating pages by attribute values.

The overall report includes all lines from June, July and August 2011 with line types of Open and Close End.

Each combination of values for Data Period and Line Type comprise individual pages when the output is viewed. As noted above, the attribute values for each page would then be as follows:

Loans/Lines from Data Period of June 2011 with Line Type Open End

Loans/Lines from Data Period of June 2011 with Line Type Close End

Loans/Lines from Data Period of July 2011 with Line Type Open End

Loans/Lines from Data Period of July 2011 with Line Type Close End

Loans/Lines from Data Period of August 2011 with Line Type Open End

Loans/Lines from Data Period of August 2011 with Line Type Close End
